Dementia and Alzheimer’s are aging diseases that families hope never happens their loved ones. When dementia or Alzheimer’s hits home, coping with the challenges, costs, in-home care, specialized nursing care or who in the family will take care of the loved one, may be overwhelming. Long term care is expensive. Most assisted living facilities costs $12,000 to $17,000 per month.
Did you know that according to the 2013 Alzheimer’s Association Report that 1 in 3 individuals die with a form of dementia? Please note that it is with and not from a form of dementia. Currently, there are 5.25 million Americans that have some form of dementia or have Alzheimer’s. By 2050, the numbers will increase up to 13.8 million according to Alzheimer’s Association’s 2014 Report.
